Anatomy of the Breath

This workshop explores the anatomical basis for the relationship of breath, sound and movement based on Body-Mind Centering(R) principles of experiential anatomy and developmental movement. Through movement sequences, touch and visualization we will establish the four diaphragms (thoracic, pelvic floor, vocal and cranial) and investigate their relationship to the support of the spine, verticality and sound production. We will also explore the role of cellular breathing and organ support, with a special focus on the experiential anatomy of the lungs. A detailed curriculum is available upon request.
